BUCKET LIST: Cheer and scream at a performance of the two living Beatles together
It was the kind of call we get occasionally from our friend Karen Herman, Vice President & Chief Curator at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum. "What are you doing next weekend," she asked. When we replied nothing, she suggested we get plane tickets and wing our way to Cleveland a few days later to attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony. As if that wasn't incentive enough, she let us know that Paul McCartney would be inducting Ringo Starr. We hung up, booked tickets on Spirit Airlines (that's a whole other story and far from a bucket list item) and made our way to Ohio. The whole night was a thrill but the highlight was seeing Paul and Ringo, the last two living Beatles, play "With A Little Help From My Friends" together. Seeing Green Day get inducted was a bonus Pop Culture Passionistas Bucket List item. As Billie Joe Armstrong said during his induction, “It's like my record collection is actually sitting in this room.” Ours, too. Long live rock and roll.
